What is a good brand for yarn?
i want to know what yarn brand is know for having very good and specialty yarn
i want to get my mom some so it has to be nice

It just really depends what she likes making. Yarns can be very diverse - ranging in fibers from wool and cotton to bamboo and very unique blends. It also ranges in size - does she like to make socks or blankets? Hats or sweaters? Every project specifies a specific yarn size and quantity (some projects can take more than 10 skeins!)
Basically, if you can buy it at a craft store, it's low-end - which is fine if you're just starting out or on a limited budget (I personally hate Red Heart). A more experienced knitter (or crocheter) has probably moved on to specialty yarns from specialty shops. Higher quality stuff for more specific purposes.
